ValleyCats9 Tigers1 Pat Peavey has been mired in a season-long slump, but the Tri-City ValleyCats' third baseman finally broke through Wednesday night, knocking in two runs to lead the 'Cats to a 9-1 victory over the Oneonta Tigers.
The Cats took two of three from the first-place Tigers (32-17).
Peavey, who entered the game batting .214, tied the game in the second when he lined a single to center field, scoring Brandon Macchi, who had led off with a double to right field. Peavey moved from first to third after Tigers shortstop David Garcia bobbled Jake Whitesides' grounder and scored when Jeff Mackor grounded into a double play.
